10 HOTTEST Looks From Fashion Month

Fashion Month 2022 Roundup

Once upon a time in the busy streets of New York City and across the pond in London, Milan, and Paris, all the celebrities, glam squads, and supermodels came out to play in the name of fashion. While the runways prepared us all for the upcoming season, we were busy admiring the hair and makeup- which, in our opinion, stole the show. Serving us with plenty of memorable beauty moments, we’ve rounded up our top ten looks, because fashion month isn’t just about the clothes.

LOOK: Glitter Cat Eye

Glitter Cat Eye FW22

While beauty trends come and go, one thing that will never change is the amount of confidence a next-level eye look can give. Popular in the 50s, the cat-eye is experiencing a resurgence from popular celebrities like Ariana Grande, but with a modern twist- GLITTER. Whether you are strutting your stuff on the catwalk or eye-ing your crush from across the bar, this fun and flirty disco look will make you stand out from the crowd.

LOOK: 60S INSPIRED VOLUME

Fashion Week- 60s Updo

Who said you need to have your hair down to turn heads? The Moschino and Batsheva shows took us back to the 60s, with looks that would make any pageant girl jealous. With beehives, bouffants and perfectly quaffed updo’s soaring to new heights, these big and fun looks were very camp and drove the retro-themed shows home.

Never fall flat with UNITE TEXTURIZA Texturizing Spray. Adding volume, texture, and fullness, a little goes a long way with this spray- adding the perfect glossy finish to any ‘do. Perfect for all hair types and textures, this spray delivers a workable hold on even the most quaffed updos.

LOOK: WET HAIR

Fashion Week 22- Wet Waves

Brought into the spotlight by Kim Kardashian at the 2019 Met Gala and Megan Fox at the 2021 VMA Awards, this year’s Fashion Week proved that the wet look is here to stay (and slay)! The slicked back and sleek look gives that sexy fresh out of the water illusion (cue Denise Richards getting out of the pool in Wild Things) without having to get your hair (or makeup) wet.

Using Color WOWs Pop + Lock Frizz and Glossing Serum, aka Chris Appletons “secret weapon” is the KEY to achieving this look. The lightweight and non-greasy formula creates an intensely glossy finish, without that annoying crunchy texture.  Chris says to generously apply the serum in 2-inch sections throughout dried hair before styling for that “fresh out of the shower” glam.

LOOK: WRAPPED PONYTAIL

Wrapped Ponytail FW22

Low-wrapped ponytails took center stage at both PatBo and Ulta Johnson’s runways. As stated by Lacy Redway, the celebrity hairstylist at PatBo’s show, “I wanted the hairstyle to mimic Patricia’s vision for this collection. The way this elevated headscarf effortlessly wraps around the ponytail felt like a work of art on its own,” and we couldn’t agree more. Accessories are the perfect way to elevate any look, and a silky scarf is a versatile piece that can be styled in multiple ways.

The goal here is sealed and glossy roots. Add a ColorWow Dream Coat treatment to your blow out or make it a bi-weekly summer routine at home to keep humidity out and reflective shine in. Plus, your hair gets an extra boost of hydration with every use!

LOOK: BOLD EYESHADOW

Fashion Week 22- Bold Eyeshadow

Whoever said makeup isn’t an “art” has never seen the work produced by some of the top makeup artists in the industry, who prove that anything can be a canvas- even the human face. For the SHAYNE OLIVER show, lead artist Pat McGrath took a turn for the BOLD. “We were obsessed with the idea of creating human bouquets,” she noted in a press email. The look consisted of “pollen-drenched lashes blooming into full-floral fantasies” (photographed on the far left). These whimsical looks dominated the runways and we can’t imagine how many makeup wipes the models needed to use after their debut on the catwalk.

LOOK: SCULPTED BRAIDS

Sculpted Braids FW22

Just like makeup, hair is another outlet for stylists to really showcase their creativity. Beautiful and bold sculpted braids were seen on multiple runways this year, demonstrating how versatile hair can be. Not only were the braids interesting enough on their own to look at, but they keep hair pulled back- showcasing the model’s beautiful faces.

With any-style braids, you still want ‘em to hold together and stay in place from the runway to the after-party. To keep flyaways at bay, we suggest Unite’s Smooth and Shine for its anti-humectant power and nutrient-rich hold. Plus, it reduces blow-dry time, perfect when you’re running late to make a curtain call or patio drinks with the squad.

LOOK: COLORED EXTENSIONS

Coloured Extensions FW22

As predicted, the runways were filled with vibrant pops of color. From Paris to New York, lime green, sunset orange, and saturated yellow took center stage- but not just on the clothes. Designer Collina Strada added a grunge punk edge to her show by using pastel extensions, matching the vibrant and loud colorful designs in her collection. Let your inner rocker loose this season, by adding fun pops of color to compliment your gorgeous locks.

Make your rockstar dreams come true with Glam Seamless tape-in extensions. Made with pure 100% Remy human hair, not only do these vivid extensions bring out your inner diva, but they also make your hair look thicker, longer, and healthier- now that’s what we call a win-win situation!

LOOK: EMBELLISHED GEMS

Fashion Week 22- Face Embellishments

The Euphoria effect has taken over Instagram and left its mark on this year’s runway. Starring fashion icon Zendaya, Euphoria follows the traumas and troubles faced by high schoolers, but it has famously started a beauty movement full of glitter, sparkles, bright eyeshadow, and embellished gems. Designers such as Etro and Simone Rocha drew inspiration from the show’s unique looks and added some extra embellishments to light up the model’s faces. Who needs under-eye concealer when you can just slather on some glitter and gems?

LOOK: BLUSH! BLUSH! BLUSH!

Blush Everywhere FW22

This year was all about doing the time warp and pulling inspiration from past decades, and the ’80s was no exception. As stated by Lori Taylor David (Smashbox Cosmetic’s global pre-lead artist), “Blush is back. We’re serving worn-in intensity but DIY impact.” While blush is usually used as an accent to sculpt cheekbones and add a youthful glow, designers such as Anna Sui and Carolina Herrera applied heavy amounts of blush to the temples and eyes- and we are so here for it. The pinker the better!

GET THE JOB DONE WITH:

The goal here is bright and PINK. Add a Glo Skin Beauty mineral powder blush to your makeup bag for a gentle flush of long-wearing color, perfect for making your cheekbones and temples POP. Oh, and did we mention that it’s super buildable- so you can add as much or as little drama as you want to achieve the statement blush look dominating the runaways.

LOOK: BEJEWELLED HAIR

Bejewelled Hair FW22

If you want to be transported back to the days of getting your hair beaded and braided on the beach- this look is for you. Celebrity hairstylist, Danilo Dixon, is to thank for this nostalgic moment, as he transformed the Moschino stage into a bright, pastel, beaded wonderland.
