Blo | Blow Dry Bar

On Friday I finally decided to take a visit to the much noted-BLO hairspa over on Hamilton. I was going out on a night on the town with the girls later on after work so I thought, why not take a visit today? My hair was a complete mess so it only justified this visit another notch.

With the Olympics going on BLO was rather busy but luckily I was penciled in for a 45 minute wait after I went for lunch. The staff were friendly and my Blo stylist Shalon was a treat to have.

So to clarify what BLO is, it's a hair spa where styling is the main concept. There's no haircuts/dyes but just pure styling. They will wash your hair, blow dry, style and you're on the go! It's $30 for most styling and $55 for updos. There's a BLO menu that you can look through and basically pick the type of style you'd like. From what I saw they only have about 10 styles or so, but if you have something in mind they will do that too. I'm all about BIG, volumnous hair so I got a big bump in the front and big luscious curls for the rest of my hair. What I liked about Shalon was she was very determined to get my hair exactly how I wanted it to be. My front bump was being rather stubborn (not standing in place) and normally I'd probably just give up but she said something that I quite liked.

"This hair bump is being rather stubborn...but I'm equally stubborn!!"

And she just went at my hair!! In the end, she got what she wanted and I was more than happy with the end result.

I can't comment on the salon itself since I didn't really take a good look as I was running on work time and just wanted to get in and out there asap. But what I can remember it was CLEAN (a big yes for me), modern decor, and just an easy going-chill vibe.

I really wish I had a personal BLO stylist with me 24/7. I'm all about having fabulous hair! :) Go take a BLO visit at 1150 Hamilton Street open daily from 9am-6pm (walkins--appt times vary).
