Scissor and colour-free salon backed by Arlene Dickinson
The vibrant and no-nonsense salon Blo, will expand its finishing-only service to Alberta. Holding a reputation for spotting business developments that will take off, Arlene Dickinson and Carley George purchased master franchise rights for Blo Blow Dry Bar in Alberta.
Dickinson, an icon of Canadian entrepreneurship, CEO of Venture Communications and co-host of the CBC series Dragons’ Den plans to open the blo bars in spring 2010 and solicit franchise requests. “Customers have shown that they are looking for fast and convenient ways to ensure they look their best. Even in recessionary times, the lipstick index indicates that we’re looking for affordable luxury,” says Dickinson.
Blo is Canada’s first and only concept dry bar that offers “no cuts, no colour, just WASH BLOW GO”. Their signature service is a thirty-dollar cut performed in thirty minutes, and clients can choose from seven styles featured in the Blo Hair Menu. “We’ve seen the success of the franchise in Vancouver and Toronto and look forward to coifing hair in Alberta soon,” says Carley George.
