Merry Christmas Stephanie!

Fred Lee of The Early Edition put on a great little contest, and blo was one of the prizes. Here is the story of the winner, miss Stephanie, via her friend!

My friend Stephanie is a wonderful person. She is cheery, outgoing and very giving to everyone she knows. But she had a terrible time of it over the last six months. She was riding to work one day when the bus she was in was side-swiped. Stephanie was standing at the time, having given up her seat to an elderly person (as she always does). She went flying in twe collision and her back and neck were hurt badly. She suffered soft tissue damage that took months to heal. She could barely walk or feed herself but still had to go to work everyday because she was new to Canada and not entitled to any benefits yet. She had to pay for her doctor's fees out of pocket and crawl to work, but somehow did all of this with a smile on her face. She couldn't participate in the beautiful summer we had and her family lived far away so she spent much of her time alone in her apartment to heal. She preservered and made it through. She is a hero.

The hamper of goodies she received:

pair of tickets to the Arts Club's presentation of It's a Wonderful Life;
pair of tickets to the Vancouver Symphony's Vivaldi's Four Seasons;
pair of tickets to the Goh Ballet's The Nutcracker;
pair of tickets to VanDusen Garden's Festival of Lights;
pair of tickets to the Capilano Suspension Bridge's Canyon Lights;
pair of GOLD tickets to the Vancouver Canucks;
The Canadian Tenor's just released Xmas CD The Perfect Gift;
A huge basket of President Choice holiday treats;
A cuddly Christmas Bear;
A cookbook and apron from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts;
A $100 Joe Fresh Gift Card;
From Blo Dry Hair Bar, perfect hair for the holidays, two blo outs;
A Christmas Tree fresh from Aunt Leah's Xmas Tree lot at Granville & 54th;
From our friends at Whole Foods, a 12lb roasted turkey with all the trimmings including mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish and traditional pumkin pie.
Of course, no Christmas table is complete without a Yule Log. And Chambar Pastry Chef and Dirty Apron Cooking School dessert teacher Eleanor Chow 's Yule Log is a winner! It's a festive swirl of vanilla sponge cake and chocolate ganache ifinished with chocolate buttercream! She's also throwing in her secret Egg Nog!
There's more....after all is said and done how about a treatment at the Shangri-la's CHI Spa. A Mimosa Champagne Body Treatment. The ultimate 75 minute body masque!
And to complete it all, a little something-something from Tiffany and Company!
